![]() This never happened with Orbit trackball because of "finger friendly" shape of its ring.īut ultimately I would vote for new Kensington's model: Expert's big nice ball + Orbit's scroll ring. I would also constantly hit and trigger the ball why scrolling the ring, it was upsetting. Also, it's shape is not adjusted well to the big ball. It lacks smoothness in scrolling operation because of weird magnet mechanism. It's OK to use for browsing internet, but for delicate program like PT it appeared too clumsy for me. It's scroll ring is definitely nicer, easier to use, very smooth, it has "finger friendly" shape, just love it!!!Įxpert's scroll ring is too small for delicate operations IMHO. I bought two Kensington trackballs: Expert and Orbit with scroll ring. ![]() That way I have covered the things that get used most often.Īs to the mouse flying about don't forget to pay attention to the cursor sped and acceleration parameters in the Kensington s/w.Įdit: I also responded in the other thread you posted about this. I'd rather have it programmed for standard program functions (actually operating system functions) that work across everything. Granted the software isn't customizable for different programs but that's a feature that never did anything for me. At least not like the Kensington Expert Mouse (which is the large trackball). The Pro you have looks like a more or less standard mouse button-wise - I don't see top and bottom buttons. I had a Kensington wireless mouse with multiple buttons on it and never really liked it. Knowing how much this device is loved by the editing-community, I was wondering if there's more I can do to overcome this or do I have to conclude it is just not my tool for the trade? I have been using Logitech Performance MX mice in the past, but got annoyed with the size and the batteries running out all the time. Furthermore it won't allow me to use the upper,- and lower buttons together. I use USB Overdrive for that and that provides no option for 'snapping' or more precise positioning. I know Kensington's sw provides a feature to 'snap' to expected targets, but unfortunately the sw is not customizable for different applications (i.e. What happens a lot is that when I want to move fast from one place to another (screen) I regularly loose track of my mouse pointer (it runs all over the place) but most difficulty is that I notice I get more wrist-pains trying to position the cursor at the exact right place. Last 2 things I will try, is a different keyboard, or maybe buy a new wired expert mouse, just to see.I have had the Kensington Pro under my hands for some days now, but cannot say I'm satisfied, probably because I'm having a hard time getting used to it. We tried the new Trackball works v1.3.0, then back to the old.etc. I have tried every usb port, with and without hubs, connecting the mouse directly to the imac, then the mouse and keyboard separated on the USB ports/channels/rails. However when I finished the software update to 10.13.4, upon the first reboot I did not have to unplug the mouse. It Worked!!Īhhh but upon the very next cold reboot.no dice. I, like you, have to unplug then plug back in my mouse to get Trackball works to recognize the mouse. I was hoping the upgrade to 10.13.4 would "accidentally" fix it, but it didn't.well only for a very brief moment: Kensington says it is an OSX issue, yet apple can't figure it out. Called kensington back and asked them "what now?" I even bought a wireless expert trackball, but still had the same issue. ![]() Kensington said my track ball was very old, a version 1, or something. I have had apple care look at this issue multipule times, Kensington support multipule times and still no luck. ![]() Thannes, Yes, I too have this same issue.
